Spider Webs (10/28/13)
This project used Elmer's glue as a resist with colored chalk on black construction paper. Students were instructed on drawing a spider using glue straight out of the squeezable bottle. Depending on how much glue an artist used, the spider could take a whole day to dry. After the glue dried clear, students colored over their black paper with chalk pastel. Next, they gently brushed the chalk with a tissue to blend the colors together and reveal the black spider underneath. They finished by using white oil pastel to draw the cobwebs.
